Engraved Pavers

Help Cultivate a Lasting Legacy in the Betty and Jacob Friedman Holistic Garden at Rice University!

About the Project

We are thrilled to announce the Engraved Paver Project, designed to celebrate our vibrant community and enhance the Holistic Garden. Each engraved paver will help form a unique pathway, symbolizing the community of gardeners, plants, animals, and the environment.

Why Pavers?

The Garden has become a crown jewel on Rice University’s campus, welcoming hundreds
of people each year. Students, researchers, community volunteers, garden workers, and members of academic clubs, participate in and conduct garden tours, seminars, hands-on workshops, and special events. It is a living laboratory and natural classroom. As our Garden grows, improvements are needed to maintain accessibility. We are installing concrete pavers to create safe, even surfaces for our walkways and demonstration areas.

Your engraved paver will serve as a personal tribute to the project while building a communal space that fosters growth, learning, and interactions for people of all ages and abilities.
